THE FITZROY RIVER FILM FESTIVAL is a celebration of the mighty Martuwarra Fitzroy River – the lifeblood of the Kimberley in Western Australia.

Presented by The Kimberley Like Nowhere ElseThe Kimberley Land Council and Environs Kimberley, the event will premiere the multi-award-winning documentary series Voices of the River. The 10-part video series showcases the inspiring and powerful words from Traditional Owners along the Martuwarra Fitzroy River and their efforts to protect the River from large-scale water extraction.

The Fitzroy River Film Festival will include a collection of short films featuring the Martuwarra Fitzroy River - from passionate community members, students, Aboriginal rangers, scientists, recreational fishers – and warnings from people from the Murray-Darling, all who are standing together to protect the Fitzroy River and its future.

The Fitzroy River Film Festival coincides with National Reconciliation Week and this year's theme is 'Be Brave, Make Change' - we hope you will take this opportunity to stand with Traditional Owners from the Martuwarra and support protection of the Fitzroy River.

Join us for an evening to marvel at the wonders of this National Heritage listed treasure, and join the conversation about protecting one of Australia’s last wild rivers.
