Update: Fremantle Fitzroy River Film Festival event has been postponed!
THE FITZROY RIVER FILM FESTIVAL is a celebration of the mighty Martuwarra Fitzroy River – the lifeblood of the Kimberley in Western Australia.
Presented by The Kimberley Like Nowhere Else and The Kimberley Land Council, the event will premiere the multi-award-winning documentary series Voices of the River. The 10-part video series showcases the inspiring and powerful words from Traditional Owners along the Martuwarra Fitzroy River and their efforts to protect the River from large-scale water extraction.
The Fitzroy River Film Festival will include a collection of short films featuring the Martuwarra Fitzroy River - from passionate community members, students, Aboriginal rangers, scientists and recreational fishers - who are standing together to protect their lifeblood.
Join us for an evening to marvel at the wonders of this National Heritage listed treasure, and join the conversation about protecting one of Australia’s last wild rivers.
