Make a call to help protect the Kimberley

We are just 3 weeks away from the WA election, but we have not yet had specific commitments from the major parties about what they will do to protect the Kimberley. There is something very simple and powerful you can do to help today.

Please consider taking a few minutes to call the Office of the Premier and/or the Opposition Leader and leave a message with their staff, asking what their party will do to protect the Kimberley if elected.

The numbers and some notes are below – this is a simple and quick way of creating a big impact. We know that the parties are very keen to hear from local people in the lead up to an election, so it’s a great time to call.

Phone numbers:

Office of the Premier (Colin Barnett): (08) 6552 5000

Office of the Opposition Leader (Mark McGowan): (08) 6552 9900

Some things you could mention:

  • Tell them the area you live in, and that you are a supporter of Kimberley conservation. Progress has been made with new marine parks, but some areas like the Buccaneer Archipelago, Adele Island and the Lacepedes remain unprotected. Ask what Labor/Liberals will do to finish the job of protecting the Kimberley if they are elected?

If you want more information, you can read about what needs to be done to protect the Kimberley. Thanks in advance for anything you can do to support protection for the Kimberley this election.
